Thanks for folks who helped me with my previous speakers question ... now asking for opinions on which head unit to get. I'm looking at Eclipse but also looking at some of the higher-end Kenwoods (HD radio already included), Pioneers, and Alpines. Any/all thoughts requested :)

I allways liked kenwoods stuff.... Alpine to me is buying a name...

And get the HD if you can..

Alpine makes some good stuff. It's more then just a name, they have a good reputation for a reason.

On the same hand, I'd steer clear of Kenwood. Their high-end stuff may be good, but most of the mid-grade stuff isn't as good as the others out there.

I've heard nothing but good things about Eclipse. Don't have much experience myself, but everyone who has had one has had nothing but good things to say.

I have an Alpine Deck in my Trac and a Eclipse in my SVT Focus. Both are great Head Units. I can't say which one I prefer because each setup is drastically different in each vehicle. The SVT Focus the back seats are removed and a false floor has been added with two aps and a 12" sub that is flush with the floor.

Eclipse and Alpine are both good.

You are not buying the name when you purchase an Alpine.

I prefer the Alpine because the buttons are a little bigger. I have found with the Eclipse the buttons are a little small for me but you could get use to it.
