EGR Valve

I recently had the CEL go on in my 2001 sprt trac 68,000 miles. Took to shucks auto for free use of code tester. trouble code P0401 (EGR recirculation flow insufficient dected)



Engine seems to be running rough, BTW



Tech said I could remove and clean it. I am now trying to determine location of the EGR valve.



Has anyone had similar situation resolved by cleaning? Where is the EGR located? To replace an EGR, a shop said 1 hour plus part cost. Est $200.00

Any suggestions?

can change it yourself in few minutes if im not mistaking.. i have to change mine also... making check engine light come on.. i jus havent bought one yet

Not to be considered as incompetent...can you describe the location of the EGR valve...

scubasteve, "do a search", actually here is one I found. Thier problem with that code was the DPFE sensor. (not the EGR)
