Email hacked, sorry

My email was hacked and a few people from here were recipients of a fake email from me. I've dealt with it (I hope) and shouldn't be a further problem. If you got an email from me last night, please disregard and certainly do not click on any link.

Hugh, I had that before, I changes my password and that took care of it.

Yes, Ed is correct. As soon as you change your Password, the fake email will stop.



That happened to me a few years ago and I discovered it when I started getting emails from ME on my other email account?? I originally thought one of my friends got their email hacked but when I checked my Sent mail, I found that the bogus email was sent from my account :angry:



Be sure to use a complex password with uppercase, lowercase, and numbers, and even special characters if your email allows them. One of the little tricks I like to use when possible it to put a space (blank) at the end of the password....even if someone sees your password they can't see the space at the end. Of course this does not work on all systems because some places will remove/ignore any trailing spaces.

I have (and had) a pretty complex password. Guess it just happens.:banghead:

What happens sometimes is that your Email provider will have their password files hacked. They resecure their files, but the hackers now know your password, until you change it.

Actually, if I just ignore the security breach, deny that it ever happened, or if it did happen (just not as reported) it certainly wasn't my fault; you know what, just ask Carney...I should be on the fast track to czar status!

Lol, they probably got pretty bored. A few school emails, some online purchases for the truck, and a couple instances of bringing my work home with me. The Sport Trac and Amazon is pretty much what keeps me online anyway. Otherwise, I really could do without Internet and email.
