i went around town today checking on prices on exhaust systems. at every place i went to they told me that they couldnt put a pipe on the left side because of 1) my spare tire and 2) all the rubber fuel lines. i also have gone to ron brezina's thing in projects and saw how they got the pipe to work but none of these places around here will do it. for those of u out there who have dual exhaust, how did u get that dang left pipe around all that crap!

I have exhaust going down that side, go to any exhaust shop that isnt a chain (midas etc) and they probably will do it.

You def. Have to go to a custom shop to get it done . . . Anyone who has any type of skill or experience can do it, might take long (roughly 6 hrs. For mine) Good pics in my library also . . . Print the best ones on this site and take them.
Good luck, CHRIS

Chris i went and saw ur pics, and on that left pipe it looks like it goes in between ur the back of the fender well and the back of the leaf spring (if im not mistaken). does that affest ur suspension at all? wut is the sound like? im going for a more v8 sound (i no, not exactly possible but u get the idea). wut setup do u have? do u have the rubber fuel lines and brake lines or are those stainless steel?

Big D u got any pics of the pipes under ur truck?

Mine are routed like Todds above. Unlike Big D, mine (both of 'em) were done at a Midas. Pipes, labor, FM40 and tips less than $400. The guy did not even take the spare off to do it.

Yes Gavin, a few of us do.

Here's a pic with my original configuration with a single out. Can't find any with the dual out, but I'm sure someone else will post those.

RYAN, sorry for the long response and the time it took, nope nothing on the rear end is changed from stock, i have a flowmaster 40 series done in 2 1/2 . The sound is nice for me, sounds really good in the city, 1st to 2nd is nice, 2nd to 3rd is the best, nice n loud and good tone, and the other 2 gears produce nice sound during shifting also but 2nd to 3rd is by far the best -- my one and only complant is that when i punch it on the highway or at like 50 the noise blows out and you cant really hear it, but people have told me it sounds great in other cars during city and highway driving. The guy who i went to told me that he could have it it done in no time if it was done in 2 but i wasn't worried about time dropped it off at 9 and picked it up at 5 (i think he was doing other work in between but that no big deal -- I took it to ford dealership to get a part done on warrenty and thier mechanic said that my break line is a little close but after a year and a look from me its the last thing on my mind, plus what do those guys know. After futrther looking at the pics i realized thier just ok tomoro when i get home i can take some more is you want. What type of muffler you getting and what kind of exit you like.

Hopw this helps and keep the questions coming if needed. CHRIS

CHris thanks for the update. i know the whole set up is going to be flowmaster. it is going to be a single in and dual out w/ 2.25" tips. pics would be nice.

grumpy, i also went to midas yesterday and the guy told me that he couldnt do it because of the fuel lines and that there is no room. i guess ur guy knew what he was doin.

i plan on going to a custom shop that has a good rep. for pipes. ill show them the pics and try to get them to do it.

with all the extra crap to get the left pipe around, did u guys have to pay extra or did u just have some guys who knew what to do instead of tell you they cant

Nope. It'll be cheaper than a standard exhaust though, less pipe, less time bending around the axle and spare, and if you go no-muffler, you save $50 there. That exhaust cost $120, pipe, tips, and install.
