Hmmm, I'll have to seriously contemplate this. Does anybody know if they'll help the mpg? The stock manifolds don't look real restrictive.

Tempting as hell, but I've heard from several guys that on our st's, it's mostly show (sound) and no go. I think (this isn't dead true fact) that performance wise, the y-pipe from Wayne is a better deal. Sure would like to hear the headers on the st though. I guess if you have the dough, its a good deal.

As per JBA, the headers most benefit folks that tow. I have spoken to JBA on a couple of occasion regarding this and this has always been the outcome. I doubt they will help mpg, the stock manifolds actually breath very well. I've never had an increase in mileage from using headers.

Spaceman Spiff, on older trucks (60's, 70's and 80's) you could see a dramatic increase in MPG. Back in my high school days as a project I put headers, dual exhaust, Holley 600cfm 4 barrel, and a GT 390 manifold on my dads 76 Ford F100 with a 360CI. His mileage went from 12 MPG to 14-15 MPG. But I have to agree, looking at the exhaust manifolds on the ST they are about what shorty headers are now, just heavier and maybe hotter.

Got'em ... didnt notice much of a gain by themselves, but have now replaced almost all of the intake/exhaust parts (save main cats) ... nice powergains throughout the rev-band ....
