Explorer V8 swap

This is a little premature but when my 4.0L in my 01 ST finally goes I want to put a V8 out of a Explorer. I guess the best thing to do is find a 2001 Explorer and buy the hole truck so I have everything from the donor truck. Has anyone done this and do they have any pointers. I wont be doing this anytime soon I only have 90k on my 4.0 but if I found a donor truck or a motor and harness I would snag it up.:driving:

There a guy on here that did the swap on his. There's also a couple Sport Trac's over on the www.explorerforum.com that have V8 swaps, they just did one on the "Rock Trac", John Rock's truck.

Also an '01 Trac is the easiest model to do a V8 swap because the Ex's computer is fairly compatible. '02-up have the PATS anti-theft key, which is not impossible to work around, but adds a level of complication. IIRC, at the site Jerry mentioned, one person found that a Lincoln Mk VIII computer worked and solved the PATS key issue.
