Graham,

Go with a built ford 302. Parts are plentiful... the performance is great... and its a 99% just "bolt on" mod...

I swapped my 01 2wd v6 to a AWD V8...

Things to consider.

> You will need to use a explorer fuel rail from 1999 or newer due to differences in fuel delivery, I recommend basing your swap on a 1999 or newer exporer v8 and 4r70w transmission.

> Also take in to consideration emissions if you have any in your state

> You will need to purchase an SCT programmer to remove PATS anti theft key programming

> You will need a PCM & engine/transmission wiring harness from a 1999 or newer explorer

> You will need a TURF inc "speedchanger" to get your spedo to work

> And there are some wiring changes... (not to bad though)

Feel free to contact me and I can help you plan your swap ([email protected])

-Don D.

Graham,

If you're looking for an EE X-Charger, check in occasionally at MustangCollective.com. 4.0L V6 Mustang owners on that site are always selling used ones. There's one for sale right now for about $3500.
