Factory CD Player Skips

Does heat build-up cause a CD to skip? Factory or recorded do this.

How about never being cleaned? 2003 ST.



What can I do to fix the skipping problem?

suggest you try cleaning the cd player with one of those cleaner disks, it might help, but if its an earlier version, you may just need a new one as the internal parts are plastic and subject to wear and tear, or just breaking for no reason

Hey You!

My 6 CD player does the same thing on very warm/hot days. I have plans to install a small fan on the back of the case. I just haven't taken the time yet.





And did you ever install the lowering blocks? please update your library if you have!:lol:

My wifes '01 escape would do that. Once a year I would use a cd cleaner disk and it would stop, for another year.
