Just finished my draft and have a quick question.

Here is my line up Do you think I should keep Jake Plummer or try and trade up for someone else?

QB Jake Plummer

RB LT2

RB Kevin Jones DET

RB Ronnie Brown MIA or Mewelde Moore MIN or Stephen Jackson STL

WR Terrell Owens

WR Joey Porter or David Patten

TE Tony Gonzalez

K - Neil Rackers

Def - Patrick Kerney ATL DL, Wil Witherspoon LB CAR, Adrian Wilson ARZ DB

Thanks

We have some of the same faces as I have Jake Plummer, Ronnie Brown and Will Witherspoon as well. Is LT2 LaDainian Tomlinson? Personally I think Plummer may be a bit underrated in the fantasy world, he put up his best numbers last year and I think he will only get better in his 3rd year in Denver. I'm going to hold onto him and ride him until he proves me wrong, my advice to you would be to do the same.

You do have some flexibility at Rb though and could possibly find a team that may have a weakness there and depending on who their QB is, combine Plummer and either Ronnie Brown or Stephen Jackson (personally I'd keep Jackson) for an upgrade, but only if it is a significant upgrade. Also hit up the GM who took Ricky Williams because he may be interested in Ronnie Brown since Ricky will miss the season's first 4 games.

Remember though in fantasy football it's not important to have the best player at every position, you just have to have more positional advantages than your opponent. Unless you are upgrading to Culpepper or Manning it probably isn't worth making the deal because the difference between Plummer's point total and who ever you got back in return probably won't be that much of a difference.

Good luck.

Huge football fan but never have done the fantasy thing. I would reconsider the TO thing though. I know the guys sick but with the "is he going to fake injuries, will he continue talking smack aobut his own leaders, etc. seems like a gamble unless there's an out for that kind of thing. Portter is unreal but with the guy across the sidelines and also gabrielle could be coming into his own this year, not to mention portter is awesome but he does get dinged up a lot. ...........:huh:kind of butting in here guys sorry, just ran across my mind. take care.

WX - LT2 is Ladainian Tomlinson - I agree 100% that you do not need the best player at every position. But last year the QB(peyton and Daunte) gave me a run for my money. I got lucky in the weeks I played the GM with peyton(half of his other players didn't do well) I ended up playing him in the championship and won.

I like my entire roster but I am new to our keeper league. I am weighing rookies to keep/vs players to perform this year.

I do not want to get rid of JP losman or Ronnie Brown. Long term I really like their value. The skies the limit with them.

I may be able to deal TO for Brett Farve or something like that, We will see.

I really like the waiver wire from week to week. Playing matchups that Others don't always see is the reason I won the league last year.

Thanks for the advice, I think I will keep Plummer for a few weeks into the season and not jump the gun on him.

I may even be able to swap plummer for mcnair - I really like Mcnair this Year - no sternum issues- throwing well- Volek ready to step in at any time - This may be Mcnairs last big hurrah.......

We will see though???

Thanks again:D:wacko:

Your team looks pretty good.

I would stick with Jake Plummer, He will put up numbers as good as anyone besides the top 3.

How many RB's can you play each week?

I had my draft on Friday, here is my team:

STARTERS

QB - M Hasselbeck

RB - T Barber

RB - L Tomlinson

WR - T Holt

WR - D Jackson

TE - A Gates

k - M Vanderjagt

Def / ST - Vikings

BENCH-

QB - B Roethlisberger

RB - M Anderson

RB - F Taylor

WR - T Calico

WR - G Lewis

TE - D Jolley

k - P Dawson

Def / ST - Redskins

Cant wait for opening day.

Good luck

Denver has one of the easiest passing schedules this year so Plummer should be able to put up some good numbers for your team. That was a primary reason why I drafted him. Being in a keeper league makes trading and drafting a whole lot different than a redraft league so I understand you wanting to keep Brown, I would do the same thing.

No way I deal TO for Brett Farve though in a keeper league. Farve is more than likely done after this season while TO probably has at least 2 - 3 more good years left in him. Like I said I would do any deal unless it siginificantly upgraded your team and by that I meant it either got you Manning or Culpepper. The difference last season between Plummer and Farve was 16 points or 1 point per game. The difference between Owens & Porter was 39 points and that was with Owens missing 3 games.

I think you are right just to keep Plummer and don't jump the gun.

I can start 1 RB and 1 WR but I can start 3 Offensive Flex positions either all RB's or Wr's or a mix. Depends o the matchups too..

Thanks for the info

I may keep plummer and see what he and Losman can do for me. I won the league last year and almost everyweek I had a different qb starting. From Bledsoe to vick, to mcnair, to testeverde......

Thanks again will keep you all informed.
