Nothing against Fast Ediie's union logo, but it struck me this evening that I have seen those clasped hands before in history books.

Socialist Unity Party of Germany flag

Very intresting...I think I might change it to one of my others..at least this one has the american flag behind it...

Some people read WAY too many things into something so simple as a handshake!

The U.A.W. Handshake logo was originally designed as a symbol of unity to bring

many different types of peoples together, from many different walks of life,

unlike the Unity Party of Germany logo, where it was meant to symbolize the extinction

of a whole race, simply because they were not exactly like you or I.

Nelson,

With respect, get your historical facts and timelines straight, before you post on this

subject again.

Again,

With Respect,

TnB...

TnB,

With respect, maybe you need to read was was actually written. Nelson simply said the handshake logo looked familiar, and how it looks similar to the one on the flag. Nelson did, however, post a link to where he got the flag and a little info about the party. Which, according to the site, was founded in 1946. Now, wouldn't that be AFTER WWII and the forced excustion of the Jews? Maybe you're thinking of the National Socialist German Workers Party (aka Nazi). Perhaps you're the one that needs to get "your historical facts and timelines straight".

Jeeze the cabin fever is kicking in early this year...

It's not cabin fever, Tiger,

It's the fear of the Proletariat Government's Anti- Unilateralistic's Tactics of

the Boirgiosis' Predominant Policies that have me scared!

Yes Eddie, yours does have a flag, which I think is cool. :) It was the combination of the handshake and flag on both examples that was a bit creepy.

tracnblack, as Tiger stated, I wasn't suggesting that the UAW and the Socialist Unity Party of Germany were linked in any way.

There is no reason to appologize for suggesting that socialism and labor unions are linked. For years, socialists have been very active and supportive of labor unions, and vice-versa. You can read about some of the linkages in the sites below.

Furthermore, Socialism is not a dirty word--rather it is a form of government and economics. We have several examples of socialism here in the united states, such as Amtrak, Air Traffic Control, public schools, etc. Most folks would agree that these things are not necessarily evil.

Lech Walesa, and the Polish Peoples Party Union, for one!

Solidaridnosc! (Solidarity)!

(The Polish People's U.A.W.).

By the way, U.A.W. stands for United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural

(Implement) Workers (Of America)!

Not just Auto Workers...

Research "Charles Wilson, and the U.A.W."

My post name is tracnblack, my member profile lists me as Mike (my middle name)

Wilson, my given Christian name is Charles M.(Mike) Wilson.

(Yes, I am related!!!).

:cool::D

I figured it was him asking if there are any homosexuals here. I was just wanting to confirm what I thought it was.

Tom
