According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.



According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.



The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.



The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

The sad thing is that the paiges were warning each other about Foley since '95, and the Speaker of the House (a Republican) was covering for him because they didn't want a scandel surrounding a gay person. Well guess what folks . . .

I don't think we want the sleazy ones; but, thay often tend to put on the best show for voters who then fall for the sales pitch. Too bad the truly dedicated, honest person doesn't usually stand a chance in a popularity contest.

This is the reason why I think it is better to vote for the person and not the party. The Dem party does have conservatives as well as liberals. This has also been true of the Rep party, remember Lowell Wiecker.



The really sad part of the Foley caper is his attorney's statement that no minor was sexually abused. In DC, 16 years old is not considered a minor as is true for many areas of the US.

Just out of pure frustration and disgust with the current political parties in this

Sir, I haven't heard any reports of him having sex with anyone either and I doubt if we ever will.



However, I just repeated what his (Foley) attorney stated to the press. Did you happen to "hear" that?



Had he have said the Foley did not have any sexually relations with any of the pages, I wouldn't have a problem with it. But he didn't, did he?:lol:



His choice of wording and that a 16 year old is not considered a minor; I think would make most people suspicious.
