Thanks for all the posts!

Is there a "Member Project" to replace the alternator. I searched through - didn't see one. From what I read on the reponses to me first post it seems like it might be an easy job to do by myself.

Any advice on how to do. I have a 2001.

Thanks again.

Best advice, unhook your battery first :) rest of it is self explanitory...remove belt (note how it is routed so you aren't confused when you go to put it back on), unhook electrical connections (noting where each went), remove bolts that hold alternator in, remove alternator, put new one in doing the removal operations in reverse order :)

The alt is 3 13mm bolts....

Remove the serp belt with a long 3/8 ratchet, Disconnect battery, Remove 10 MM top nut and 1 wire clip. Remove the 3 hold down bolts and remove the alt...

Should take you 15 min start to finish...

A shop price here is going to be 1 hour labor charge plus LIST price on the part,,.

here's a pic'ed write up I did for swapping pulleys. The details are there for removing the alt. As Todd expressed, it's a very easy swap.
