Ford Accessory iPod Interface

While recently browsing the Ford Accessory web site, I found this iPod interface for 2004-2005 Sport Tracs. Has anyone here tried this? It appears to be an FM modulator that plugs into the iPod audio jack and then connects in line with the vehicle antenna cable. I'm thinking about it, but was curious if anyone else has had experience with it.

What is this?? FM Modulated? Or is it using the CD Changer output?

A picture of the unit would be nice from FORD... Not some little Music Notes on the dash...

Anyone have more insight on this Part?

Whit,

In the description, it states that is uses a 3.5mm stereo connector, which would plug into the headphone/audio jack on the iPod. I'm assuming that it then routes the audio through an FM modulator and then hooks in line to the antenna cable.

Some models require an additional antenna adapter, please check with your local dealer for details.

This also leads me to believe that it is an FM modulator, just different in that it is in line, rather than broadcasting the signal over the air.

50.00 wow! I bought one for my FJ and it was 10.00! Plugs right into the Aux jack on the deck.

This is made to retrofit vehicles that didn't come with OEM aux jacks, like the '04-05 ST.

I think Crutchfield has one like that for about $30.

Think this will work for a ST Adrenallin? Called some dealers around here, they had no idea how it would work. Would I just need an open jack in the back of the cd player right?
