Ford may extend good deals due to GM

I was looking for some hope that Ford might extend the Family Plan pricing a little longer. That dang $500 coupon that came with latest Ford mailing is trying to push me over the edge on a 5-speed Escape. I found this out of Detroit: It looks like GM is extending and Ford doesn't like it but wouldn't they have to follow suit?

I read somewhere that Chrysler is havig employee pricing set indefintaly. Maybe hey are feeling the squeeze of a falling economy.

Daimler Chrysler might have some deep pockets to keep it up for awhile. Cash-strapped Ford may not be able to maintain this pricing for long.

They are still making money - don't worry too much.



But GM just had a report on Friday that sales for August were disappointing. I wonder why they would continue a policy that's resulting in diappointing sales?



Do I smell some desperation?
