On March 17TH my ST was stolen. After 20 days the insurance settled, and to my surprise, the amount was very fair. While I am still going to be out a lot of money to replace the ST and all of the personal items in it, I have to say that AAA more than lived up to their end of our insurance contract. Kind of refreshing. I had a 2003 XLT Premium, and though I am biased, I will say it was in great condition. After a week of looking at a depressing number of beat up ST's, I found a 2005 Adrenalin with less than 11,000 miles that is in excellent shape. I bought it Saturday. I did miss my ST, and it is great to get back into one. The previous owner had even upgraded the tires and shocks to Michelin LTX's and Monroe. It is strange because I had just replaced the Goodyears on my 03 with the exact same tires about 60 days before it was stolen. After experiencing the theft of my vehicle, I did opt for an added security system, and I had the windows engraved. From my research, both of these will help prevent thefts. I did test drive the new ST's, and even though they are very nice, I still like the earlier model better, even though the V8 was very tempting, their cost quickly gets very high, as the dealers I went to had very few in stock, and did not want to deal at all.
Anyway it's good to be back in an ST, and I will get to personalize this new one all over. I am sure to have a few questions about the Adrenalin sound system, it is by far the most powerful auto sound system I have ever owned, but I am hoping there will be an Aux in adaptor available for it, so I can add a Sirius plug and play without using the FM direct adaptor. There was none available for the 03, because it was a 6 disc changer with rear seat controls.
