It looks like the seal between the front diffential and the diffential cover has gone bad and is leaking, so my question is, how hard is it to drop the axel to get to it to take the cover off and reseal it and how exactly do you add more fluid to it. any help is appreciated.

Thanks!!

Make sure it is not the Vent line or the Front pinion seal leaking....

For the cover to leak it is rare....

But to remove the cover you have t remove the whole front assembly.... So e sure it is the cover and not something else..

Try tightening it.... IF not as I said, yo have to remove the whole axle housing.....

You can use my CV replacement project and then it is a matter of removing 3 more bolts and the front diff will fall in your lap.. It weighs about 50-75lbs if I remember correctly. I had to use 1 arm and 1 leg to get it back into position during my lift kit install. And the other arm to put the 1st bolt in. It probably would have made a great pic:D

And I dont think there is a gasket available you use gasket maker/silicone.
