Frustrated trying to reinstall tonneau cover!?

I just recently bought a 2003 Sport trac with all the bells and whistles and one of my favorite features was the factory locking tonneau cover...



when i bought it the cover was on there and working perfectly fine but i first thing i did was wash the entire truck down inside and out and i removed the cover to clean out the truck bed. well few weeks later after flushing all the fluids and enjoying my new toy i decide to put the cover back on.



this is where my problem is the locks on the front wont stay locked and the ones in the back are stuck locked and now the cover won't stay on securely any tips or advice is appreciated!

Use some 3 in 1 oil on the locking mechanism, mine did the same thing, it probably washed any lubricant away and then had a little rust in it.

Re open the locks by turning the key.



I find the first time re installing I need to slam the dam thing to get it right.



Also close it with the tailgate open.

Oh man thank you guys i will try using 3 in 1 oil it is a little rusted... will update and post pics soon!
