hey donaven- let's see... haha.

everything is hooked up but im still getting a constant hum regardless of volume control - however, it sort of fluctuates with the engine revs. i have to check my amp ground.

any other advice? thanks boodro.

Big D, No.

I ran power and ground on the left side, and ran speaker wires up the middle next to the console.

You need to get a filter. It will filter out the noise that comes from the alternator. Run the hot wire straight from the battery through the filter to the amp. I had the same problem and it fixed it. Let me know if it worked.

You need to just run a wire around the RCA connections on teh back of the head unit and then ground it to the chassis of teh CD player! This will solve your whine problem!!!!!
