Fuel filter removal tool for 04

I was going to change my fuel filter this afternoon but when I tried to use my fuel filter removal tool none of its fitments seemed to have the proper fit. I got it from Pep Boys, part#W1024 by Performance Tool, and it has 3/4", 5/8", 1/2", and 3/8" sizes. I just want to verify with you knowledgable folks first if I actually do have the right tool (and simply didn't know what I was doing) before I exchange it.

Caymen, it's metal and looks like the tool in the fuel filter removal project. The fuel filter on my 04 is different from the one in the project but I thought the 3/8" should've fit anyway.

Hey Flip: I think you may have a 1/4 inch fitting on that fuel filter line. I have a 2004 ST also & it's 1/4 inch on mine with a duck bill clip, NOT a hairpin clip which uses a 3/8 & 5/16 inch fitting. Hope that helps...... Let me know how it goes.
