replaced fuel pump today.. in the bottom of the tank i found a 1/4 thick coating that looks like peanut brittle.i cleaned it out with a little degreaser and a pressure washer. any ideals with this is? sorry no pics. left camera at work..THANKS:unsure:
 
It could be hardened sugar, or perhaps some kind of varnish formed by your fuel. If you are using "No-Name" gas from some Mom & Pop store in the boonies, you might want to consider changing brands of gasoline or buying your gas somewhere that sells a lot of gas and it doesn't sit in their tanks for weeks or months.



If it was sugar, You might want to get a locking gas cap.

I am going with varnish, I have seen it many times through the years. Your vehicle is a bit young to have 1/4 inch of it, but,, could be where your buying your fuel....
