Sure that this is an easy one but my gas lid light came on last night. Is there anyway to reset it? Checking it there didn't seem to be any problem with the cap.

Two things, remove and re tighten the cap .. You need to give the truck a week or so for it to go out, IF it does not Replace the gas cap, IT is bad..

It will take eight or more complete engine cycles for the light to reset itself if there is not an on going issue.

A complete cycle is, cold engine start, run up to temp, miles registered, engine shut off and reach cold temp again.

That is why it takes so long for the light to go out on it's own.

The loose gas cap light will require about 10 miles of contunuous driving or 8-10 restart cycles without detecting the error before the warning light will go out.
