Has anyone here attempted or been successful at fiberglassing the rear area behind the seat. I have looked at dual 10" sub boxes here and other places and they just seem kinda plain. If anyone has, how did it turn out and ? Thanks and Happy Holidays (whats left of them ) Shannon

Check out mine. It's not fiberglass but it sounds good and uses up all the free space. It was just easier to go with 3/4 wood rather than working with something I know nothing about. It's a 10" sub vented on the amp side and I can still fold my seats down. I keep the seats up because of the child car seats. It actually sound better that way. And you can't tell it's there to steal it just by walking by and looking in.

I took over as a site sponsor making the sub boxes for the site. i can make one out of wood for you and carpet it or paint the box. Using fiberglass you would really still need to build a wood frame and then use the ragging and then apply the resin. That is an even more expensive route. Feel free to email me at: [email protected] for more info and pricing. Th prices on my sponsorship page have changed. :D

Spaceman Spiff made a fiberglass enclosure that fits behind the driver's side rear seat. It isn't show-quality or anything, and it doesn't need to be, but it worked well and he said it wasn't too difficult to do, and he hadn't really ever done fiberglass before.

I went looking for Spaceman Spiffs library to find the box he made and unfortunately it is not there. The only one I found was the CWells under seat box. Oh well, best of luck making the fiberglass box. Keep us informed on how you did. :D

Tiger is right(damn I don't even remember talking to you about it) and sorry Paul, no pics. I did however, glass my own box. It only houses a single 10 but that was due to the speaker of choice. Tiger put it mildly by saying it wasn't show quality, it's actually pretty ugly, but it's behind the seat and no one ever sees it so I haven't bothered with "finishing" it (pretty much why there aren't any pics). It's not too difficult to do, and it was my first and pretty much only time working with FG. If you want to try it, I can post some links and I'll try and take a pic or two. Do plenty of reading, that's the biggie if you've never worked with it.... then just do it. You'll get more confident with each layer you apply.

EDIT: One thing though, as per your title you say "glassed in" not sure what you're trying to accomplish but mine is just a glassed enclosure. One other member did a dual 10 or 12 glassed enclosure (don't recall who) but they had to split their rear bench into two individual seats for what he wanted.

thanks for all the responses. I have decided to go the easier(and less messy) route and order the box on line. It will be a lil short on airspace for 2-kicker 10's but my neighbor just got his in with his 05 trac and it sounds real good with his kicker subs. He added some polyfill after doing the google method online. (still havent figured that out) Hopefully this will all work out and allow me to get the 3rd 10 under the rear pass. side seat for a little more bass if needed. Thanks again for all the help and I will get pics up this week when I get it all installed.

I've used plain old house insulation in the place of polyfill in the past with success. I have two JL 10s in my 07 now and they sound great. There is enough room for them.
