Alan,

Congrats

Bill,

I know where you are coming from. My wife is due any day. Our first son was born in January. I can say that my wife is having a hard time dealing with the heat, swollen feet, and our three year old. I am feeling it too my hands are killing me from having to rub them so much.

My three year old was getting his hair cut the other day. The barber asked what he wanted to be when he grows up. My son responded "A Big Brother!" When we hear things like this it sure makes it easier though.

congrats from a soon to be grandpa..... I was deployed or tdy for 2 of 3 children and now am deployed for the 1st grandchild. Kind of sucks but I love what I do and that is the price we pay sometimes.

Best of luck to you and your wife!

MAC, I hear you--but my wife's feet must be worse than your wife's, as they're swollen to the point where she won't/can't even let me touch them. Although it does save me the hand fatigue you're going through... :)

When our second one was born, Michelle said that if it hadn't happened so fast (hospital arrival to time of birth was about 30 minutes), she would have requested an epidural--not for the pains of labor or birth, but for the pains in her feet. But within five minutes from the time Connor came out, her feet were completely back to normal--including her shoe size, which had gone up about six sizes from the swelling.
