So this guy, Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, a sultan who has petrol company was the richest man before Bill Gates took the lead, has in his possesion 3000 cars/trucks...

I looked, don't think he has any Sport Tracs.

WOW!!!

If we knew that, we also might know why Ford doesn't have the economies of scale to spend the engineering time to get the SportTrac right in the first place, and why there are so many problems with:

transmissions,

power steering pumps,

alternators,

timing chains,

check engine lights,

wind noise,

bad handling,

vibration,

worn seat fabric,

seats that "rock",

lumbar supports that disintegrate,

tires that cup,

paint that discolors,

clearcoat that cracks,

hood insulation that falls apart,

rear windows that don't work,

horrible gas mileage,

radiator hoses that wear through,

clueless dealer service departments,

bad vacuum hose elbows,

wimpy shock absorbers,

inadequate anti-sway bars,

knocking engines,

etc.

etc.

etc.

etc.

etc.

I think you have to be able to say his name to be a friend. Oh well, too bad for me!

hahaha... he owns an escort.... hahaha

You are aware, in some countries, you could get an Escort with 250 HP and AWD that will flat out hand a Corvette his ass and keep on going?

Don't let the name fool you. My fond memories of Honda was the CVCC my uncle had that had a glorified motorcycle engine. Honda is a respected automaker today, but I see Honda still as that company that built the CVCC  What a piece of crap that CVCC was!

TIGER, and CAYMEN .....and .....For those who question why I want them to advertise the ST...... BECAUSE THEY CHARGE FOR ADVERTISING IN THEIR DEALINGS WITH THE BUYERS!! If you don't believe me....go and try to negotiate to buy one and see if they try and charge you the advertising of the ST! If you want further proof, ask around this site and you will find that thread somewhere!

Um, what?

Wouldn't it stand to reason that 'advertisment' would also be printed brochures found in dealers? Or the FREE ones you can have sent to your house from the Ford website? Uh, yeah, that is advertisement. There are alot more charges that a dealer tries to tack on that I'd be worried about then 'advertisement' charge.

Not quite sure what you are talking about. I pay one price, plus tax.

I do know advertising costs the automaker money that we have to pay. If Ford want's to keep selling F-150's and Explorers, they need to adverise to get the word out since Ford builds so many F-150's and Explorers. If Ford sold F-150's without advertising, they would not need to.

What is the point in advertising the Sport Trac? Do you want people to compete with you when you buy one? I know I don't. The Sport Trac is marketed in a way to keep the sales low (Keep the price up) and in lower volume. (To keep the residual value up)

Advertising the hell out of the Tracs will make it harder for us to obtain one and make it worth less.

Sounds like a lose-lose for me.
