Growling!!!!

I've noticed on my '01 sport trac that sometimes when the truck has sat up that it makes a growling noise when I first crank it. It sounds like a diesel truck starting. Any idea what this might be?

This has happened to me on a few occassions as well. I have an 04 with almost 25K miles. It's startling but my truck seems to be alright.

mine did that .........it was the cam chain thingy goin' south.
