Thursday was my wife's birthday. During the day she started developing severe pains in her right side--symptoms seemed consistent with appendicitis. So she went in to urgent care, and got checked out, expecting to spend her birthday in the operating room.
After a full day of tests, it turns out she doesn't have appendicitis. She's pregnant--kid #3 is on the way! The pain was related to the pregnancy, she had some minor bleeding in her ovary, but it's something the body normally takes care of over a couple days, so it's nothing to worry about.
We were definitely not planning this, and had no idea it had happened! (She's still breastfeeding kid #2, and therefore hasn't had a period in 18 months.) But we're still ELATED!!!!
