Trying to get the harmonic balancer off to put the new one on. I've got an 04 sport trac and not sure whether this is a backwards but and have to go clockwise to get it off, or its normal and have to go counter clockwise.

Its a regular bolt....Looking at it Counter clockwise..... Lefty loosey, Righty tighty.

They're standard threads, but probably have a bit of torque on them. Have you looked on YouTube for some DIY videos? There seem to be plenty. Engine in or out of the truck? If in, best be careful; snap one of these fasteners and you just bought an expensive problem.

My bolt on my '04 came out easy with an impact. By hand you might need something to hold the balancer from turning.
