picked up my cold air intake from Zabteck, but am hesitating on cutting the fender so far. So i figured when i purchased it that i would put it on without the extentions to go through the fender. I have seen other members in PROJECTS section that have added a simple angle piece to hold the MAF and filter, but also seen some Heat Shields online that came with their "cold air intakes". I am wonder if anyone has this or has an idea how to set this up.

I want to keep the engine compartment looking like an vehicle and not a home center project. if i can pickup something at an auto center, that would be ideal.

thanks in advance

Ron made a set up,

Hopefully he will chime in....

I have been conceptualizing the same thing. I am looking at:

1. J.C. Whitney foil heat insulation. Double lined, self adhesive.

2. Insulating mylar wrap, looks like the stuff on the lunar lander.

3. Military aircraft heat insulation.

4. Home Depot, Lowes, etc. laminated heat insulation

5. Heat insulation, self adhesive, as seen on eBay.

After removing my silencer, I used aluminum flex tubing to bring air from outside of the engine compartment into the air box.
