I have a 2004 sport XLT. My heater control lights are not working along with my 12 volt accessory plug. Is there a certain fuse that controls this?

Thanks in advance😃

Yes there is. You'll need the fuse diagram in your owner's manual to locate it. What I found on an internet search is that it's a 30 amp fuse in position #17 in fuse panel under left side of dash. The lights may or may not be on same circuit as the accessory plug. Let us know what you find.

Ok, here it goes... the fuse location had a 10 amp fuse that tested ok. I am waiting for a full set of owner's manuals to come in from EBay. Doing a little research, I think it might be my headlight switch. My glove box light, my heat lights, and my running/fog lights are out. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there an easy fix? I had an issue with my break sensor and used a squirt of 10W40 and it has been fine. Can something like this work for the contacts in the headlight switch work?

Thanks!!!

CHECK other fuses, The manual sucks on specifics........

I would begin with a wiring diagram that shows the location of where the ground is connected to the body. Don't be satisfied with looking at it; removed the screw, clean and reattach the connector.

Initially, you did not mention that the fog lights were not working. Is there any other information that may help?

Did you get the manuals? Did those include wiring diagrams?

Check relays (pull and clean the spades) and then positive wires, particularly where they are routed through areas that move (door jam, steering column), and connectors.

As for server errors, well the site seemed to function flawlessly before the ISP switch, so ...

Sorry for being a bit vague. I purchased the ST on the 22nd and got a bit overly excited. I've had a little more time to look things over and here is what I know so far:

I didn't initially know the fogs were out until I discovered how to turn them on.

My owners manual does have fuse locations and functions (how I fixed my fogs), but no wiring diagram.

The cigar lighter does work, my wife didn't push her charger all the way in.

The dash lights that are not working are:

Heater controls

Right side steering wheel cruise control cluster

4x4 switch light

Radio lights

I'm thinking blown light bulbs?

In that you've had the vehicle for less than a month, it is possible that the bulbs failed one at a time over some period of time (and you are the lucky guy to notice and want to fix them).

I'd proceed along your thought and replace the easiest to access bulbs and see what happens. If it works, then probably it's the coincidence of you getting the vehicle with a bunch of old, already failed bulbs (they're old and entitled to fail).

If this doesn't work, then I'd be thinking common electrical circuit.

I don't know whether all these lights are on the same circuit.

I'll check my wiring diagram later to see what may be common with those bulbs.

Oh - check the project link below and try moving the tilt steering column for the cruise control lights (I assume the cruise control works).

All of those lights are controlled by the dimmer. This is for a 2001, but it should apply to yours.

Note that my dimmer switch gets dirty and intermittently will not turn-on the interior dome lights. When this happens, I have to cycle the switch (wheel) three to ten times. Maybe play with your a bit.

Thanks for the wiring diagrams. Everything appears to be intact. I found out when I tried to set the presets on my stock stereo, the #2 preset would work and the clock set function does not work (stock single CD double din). So the stereo is the culprit for its own lighting issues. I am now down to the heater control lighting and the 4x4 lighting. This is most likely a bulb issue and a spring project :>

Thanks again for all the feedback and help!
