I know this is WAY off topic, but as the title says, I need help finding an old friend. Has anybody used one of the "people finders" that you pay 10-20 dollars for? All I know about her is her name and her high school and colleage. Any other suggestions would be great.

Thank You

classmates.com IF the other person is registered there. You have to pay for a membership to send an email through them though. Also switchboard.com. Consider however if she's your old girlfriend she may not want to be found. I was in charge of digging up lost people for my HS class reunion. Women are tough because they usually change their names when they get married, the guys are a lot easier.

I would start with a google search. Believe it or not, I found an old friend that way and she has a somewhat average name.

Put her name in by itself first, then you can add some other things you know and fine tune it. You can also go to 411.com if you know the state where she lives. Start with the high school state, then college state...most people either return home or stay in the college area.

Good luck.

easier to try and find her parents, they may be in the same town. Then, get her address and phone or have them get her to contact you.

This is how my DW's old high school friends get in touch with her for reunions, since her name has changed.

I found an old friend (hadn't seen since 2nd grade) recently, just through a google search. Took some digging, though--I found out in the process that although he has an unusual name, he shares that name with a porn actor, so you can imagine what most of the hits I had on google looked like.

I also found an old friend by using Google (she's in CA, I'm in NJ), and have had some success with 411.com.
