help!!! fog lights went out!!

hey, i bought my 2001 ST in january. my fog lights just went out two weeks ago. i checked all the fuses. what do you think could have caused this? is it possible that both bulbs could have blown out ( i am not good with fixing vehicles)?

It is possible. You can remove the bulb and look at and test it with a battery...

The first time my fogs burnt out they went within a day of eachother so it IS possible

i know this sounds a little bit of a no brainer but are the head lights on highbeam? it sounds simple but some times it the little things u dont think of.

Also, check your high-beam relay, make sure the contacts have not fused or broken.



If you have a voltmeter, check the voltage of the socket with the fog lamps on. There should be ~12 volts DC if I'm not mistaken.



With the fog lamps being that old, if your A/C kicks in it may have sent a spike or dip in the voltage and caused both lights to fail. New bulbs are a bit more immune to this due to the fewer heat/cool cycles.

no, the high beams aren't on. do the fog lights not work if the high beams are on??

Nope. Fogs work with low beams.
