One of my friends locked her keys in her car, and of course she called me for help. I was gonna try a wire coat hanger, but thought someone here might have more info or advice. Thanks.

Jeff, I keep a slim jim in my truck just for this reason. It's a flat piece of stainless steel that will not harm the door or window. Being in the security business I've used it alot.

Take a piece of wood shaped like a wedge (door stop) and open the window or door frame with it to give you more room to work the coat hanger...

Either hook the lock or power button if it has them.... Pulling on the door Handel Will not work on Chevy's, unlike most fords...

Well, she's just gonna have her brother drive up in the morning. Yeah, we found that pulling on the handle doesn't release the locks. It was no problem getting the hanger around the handle, but the lock switch wouldn't move, not enough force. Oh well. I got some brownie points for trying.

Just turn the car over, use a small philip screwdriver and remove the battery cover and take out the 4 AA batteries. Press the reset button on the bottom of the battery compartment and the doors should pop open.
