It does night and IR. The dvr can be on your computer or HDTV.

I spent 2500$ on mine. 4 color cameras, night vision b/w and added an old computer monitor to it. Had it now for 7 years. NO regrets... Put a 1tb drive in it and can record full speed for 60 days. Don't know the mfg name, but I would buy it, knowing what I know now. If it dies in a year or two, it's worth it. I can log into it from any internet source and check out whats going on.

WOW! 8 cam setup............. whish I had some money, I would just buy another 4 camera, then I would have 8. Eddie... I still think this is a good deal.
