What's going on with group lodging? It would be really great if we could get a pet friendly place. Also, if there is anyone in the Dallas area that can help with some dog sitting would be absolutely awesome. We will be bringing our Border Collie mix, she's a real sweetheart; just ask anyone that was at the Kingman, AZ meet. :D

The Comfort Inn in Mesquite allows pets. I am considering booking my room there if nothing gets posted about a host hotel in the next couple of days. -Heather

I hope I'm not stepping out of line, here, but it looks like the meet on Saturday will be in the Ft. Worth area. There's an Amerisuites nearby. More info will be coming very soon.

Heather,

If you're not particularly interested in camping out with the other out-of-towners, Mesquite is a great location if you are looking for easy access to the State Fair (straight shot down I-30), but a hotel between Dallas and Ft. Worth will put you reasonably close to both events. Rich is trying to set up a group rate at one hotel for those wanting to group up.

I doubt the primary hotel choice will be pet friendly. We can try to arrange a group rate with a second hotel that accepts pets.

The meet on Saturday will be at the Fort Worth Stockyards. You can read more at the link below. We are still working out the group rates for the hotel.

EricP - My first choice would definately be to stay at the same hotel as the other out of towners. I just don't like waiting to the last minute to make plans. It has something to do with my type A personality. -Just let me know when you get things squared away with the hotel location. -Heather

Heather,

I understand completely. I'm the same way. :p

That's why I spoke up, but at the same time, I didn't want to divulge too much information, too soon. Rich is trying to set something up with the Amerisuites, there at the Stockyards, but like he said, he's still working on it.

Nelson, tuff it out you can handle it! :) j/k! :)

i sent you an email

The planning is coming along! Folks are really going to enjoy this meet! I encourage anyone that can attend ...to attend! This is going to be an awesome event! Lots of planning going on even as I type :)

:D

Nelson, I'm sure that you can find a room there that is pet allergen free, or find a place near by. We will be very considerate of your alergy. :D Please don't let the pet thing bother you. The only reason that we are bringing our dog is that we don't want to leave her at or pay for a kennel. :(

Oooohhhh...this means we can bring our 3 cats and 2 dogs with us! I'm sure they will enjoy all the other furry critters. Since most of the kids will be in school, maybe we can plan something for our pets to do.:D

Is there a limit on how many pets you can bring? I'm serious about ours, maybe they could room with someone else:). Howard & Jeanie you ought to bring Poncho so T.J. & Sammy can have someone to hang out with while we visit. Dove...you got any pets you want to bring? Rodger & Georgia, your doggy can play with ours too.

Yeah Rose, i've got 3 dogs, i could bring along, they would love it, I've got

~Dove~

Dove, we love you too! Yes, Rue is coming with us, he hasn't seen his grandmother in over 2 years. She will be 92 in January and I feel he needs to see her while he still can. Looking forward to seeing everyone....it's only a month away. See ya soon!
