For those that are using HID's, when you turn them on, are they really bright and then they dim a bit, maybe like a flash bulb on start up? Is this normal?
Should be. Starting an arc through a gas takes more energy then maintaining an arc through a gas. It shouldn't be a very pronounced or long lasting bright flash, but a noticeably brighter light output for a short period of time.
Close to getting on the road. Added a higher stall converter (I think 2500 RPM), fixed a leaky rear main and seeping pinion seal. Modded and fabbed up a hood hinge from a Buick. Just need to put the driveline back in, smooth the hood, add a few hood pins and she should be road worthy. Not in a huge hurry though...plus my other project begs for my time...and money.
