My son's Mustang hadn't been run for a while (he lives with my ex), so I thought I'd take it to Wal-Mart last night being that it was a nice evening. I make out a VERY large deer up ahead in the dark, darting back and forth between the Jersey barrier and guardrail. Oh (shoot). Traffic behind me, I can't stop, so I stayed in my lane as long as I could since they're unpredictable suckers anyway. At the last second the deer moves left so I move right and clip him hard with the left front. I see him heading toward my open window, so I duck and turn my head. I hear glass, which was the mirror, and the deer hit. I peek up, the windshield is okay, so I kept going. Did the best I could to miss it. Funny thing is, we don't even drive it in the rain and it gets parked way at the back of parking lots.

BTW, Wal-Mart was out of what it was I went there for.

So much for all-original paint. Oh well, could've been worse.

No, a Jersey barrier. That's the concrete dividers in the middle of highways. I live in western PA where there are a lot of deer. :D

I just learned something. I've never heard it called that. I lived in Jersey one time, which is why I asked.

No it's a cow barrier,{ you know Jersey Cows}.:lol: Good luck telling your son. NO son you can't drive the ST, you'll wreck it. Really thou, you were lucky with the damage that is done. It could have been a lot worse.

funny, here in Jersey they are just called the center dividers

JohnnyO that sucks, but at least it was only the car dented up and not you

Yeah, that looks like pretty light damage for hitting a deer. You were lucky. I know people who have died from car-deer collisions. (Including one where the deer was hit by a truck going the opposite direction on a divided freeway, which sent the deer airborn across the median, through his windshield.) Glad you're alright and that the 'Stang is driveable and repairable.

And for the record, I've never heard them called Jersey barriers or K rails either. Around here, they're called concrete center dividers.

That's one thing about PA that I don't miss, deer in the headlights. I almost hit one Saturday evening on my way back from PA. Funny thing though, it was on I-76 in Ohio.
