That was my same definition, Nelson..."necessary" in the sense that the people doing the stealing are doing so to survive. You spoke of instances where it was truly necessary, thus the name. For burglars in this country I doubt it is rarely ever really necessary, but the name still is such regardless. BTW, I didn't make up these terms...they are pretty well known.
