i love mine 2003 400ex, but have it for sale as we speak due to lack of time to ride. then i go riding yesterday and i am having second thoughts about selling. if i do sell i will get a 4x4 atv.
the bike is strong starts easy fast rides smooth jumps great lands even better slides through a turns like it needs to you will not go wrong all the other bike out just seem to tall and seem awkward to ride.i have a FMF pipe k&n filter and it is jetted and runs hard.i had a cop chase me and i did not know but when i stoped and he caught up his comment was (I was going 78mph and you were still pulling away i had to laugh)

did they have a reverse gear in 2003? electric start?
I have a 2002 400EX (of course mine is Red
) and I can confirm all of the things that bpoche just said. I too don't have much time to ride mine but i'm not getting rid of it. I love to take it to our family farm and ride, ride, ride until i'm sore in the azz, and my body aches from all of the jump landings. When you ride them real aggressively, you won't beleive the work out that your body gets, it's great!

Mine has electric start no reverse it would be nice but i would rarely use it i can spin it real easy. mine was yellow and i changed it to blue. a bule honda no one can ever figure what it is :lol:
