For those interested in housing Kartrina evacuees, there are a few websites that you can sign up for and offer to share your home. We did it and I hope and pray that we have guests very soon, this is the very least we can do. These websites are

That's great. I would sign up but we don't have any extra rooms or beds here. I went through my closet and drawers yesterday and took about 40shirts and 10pairs of shorts up to a local church where they said about 100 evacuees from the Gulf are staying.

Wonderful Rose! I just told my household we need to go through closets etc.. and ship boxes to Astrodome, Houston Tx. I am sure they all can use the clothing.

Good for you Rose. We will have Howard's sister from Metairie(sp) for a while. Three cruise ships have been leased by government for refugees. Robertsdale center at the county fairgrounds has over 1,000. Local churches are housing, feeding, and clothing as well as taking truckloads to the "south".

Many are in Mobile where several schools are severly damaged or totalled. Most folks are doing what they can and then some. You folks heard the Hardy Johnson story? Had to let his wife go to be able tohold on to the kids -- update this a.m. says he is in Atlanta today following overnight in Montgomery.

Typical Rose and LaRue. Doing thier part to help out a total stranger. Those two are truly wonderful people.
