How many gallons does the trac hold?

I thought it held 21.5 or 22.5, I was not sure. Today i was extremely low on gas, i had had the check gauge light on for 4 days, and when i went and filled up, i filled up 23.447 gallons, does the trac hold 23.5? If so i was very lucky then, cause i was about to be out.

Starting with the 2002 Job 2 Tracs, the tank is 22.5 gallons. Take into consideration that your filler neck holds fuel and the tank size is not exactly that size.



You were really low on fuel. I usually run it that way every week.

Yup. 22.5 gal. I've never run THAT low before...How far can you go after the low fuel light comes on?

The fuel is used to coolant the fuel pump. You really shouldn't run it that low.

I never went far enough to run out of fuel.



I have done that to every vehicle I have ever owned since 1991. Never had a fuel pump fail.



I plan to keep doing that.

2001 and early 2002 Sport Trac's had a 20.5 gallon gas tank but easily held 23+ gallons if you took your time and trickled it in very slowly.



the Late 2002 and later models have a 22.5 gallon tank, but you can still squeeze in a little more, but not as much extra as the old 20.5 gallons held.
