how many pins is my HU?

I have a 2004 xlt with the 6 cd audiophile system. I want to add an aux input module (PIE) that plugs into the HU harness. There are two models listed for 2004 Sport Trac. One for 16 pin & 20 pin HU and one for 16 pin and 24 pin HU. Cany anyone tell me what I have or do I take it out to see? Thanks

I am pretty sure you are gonna have to pull it to see.Just be sure not to flip it around too much or flip it upside down.This will disengage the cd mechanism. Then you are looking at about 175 dollar repair._Ron
