Does anyone know how to get a hold of somebody at Ford to voice our opinions about our trucks? At least somebody who has some authority to reccomend changes, extend the production life of our beloved Sport Trac's and so on. We may be able to start a letter writing campain to save the Trac like it is now instead of what we fear it may become(ridgeline) Any help out there? BC

bob,

my contact is the northeast regional fleet rep. i am in contact with him a few times a month. we went out for lunch a few months ago and i was discussing the end of the trac.

he was very suprised about the following of the trac and this website. we met right before the long isle meet and when i told him about the meet, he was again surprised.

i sent him pics of the meet and he was impressed.

as far as having any "pull" to continue the trac, i doubt he can do much.

i could ask him for the "right" person, but to be honest with you, it pretty much is a done deal.

todd z deals with someone in l'ville, i think that is a better option.

the trac will shortly be history, get over it, enjoy it while you can. mines an 03, just rolled 56K

has been a good ride, no major issues.

is not my first born child, is just a truck.

Yeah, The Sport tac is a vehicle that FORD has not really promoted nationally...that I know of. I think we can call & write letters until you know what freezes over and it will still be history. Decisions were most likely made years ago and I don't see them altering their business just for one vehicle. I can only say I've never seen the ST promoted nationally and only believe I've seen it in two different local FORD dealer commercials. Then, it was only a quick flash that most folks wouldn't even have noticed that it wasn't an F-150! If you want one...take care of the one you have or buy a 2010 real fast and hold onto it...or wait & buy a nice used example! Going, Going.....GONE before you know it! Like i said, I like my 2007 so far and most likely it will be the last vehicle I ever own.

I have to agree with Bill - this is just a truck. It has its pros and cons about it. Everything comes to an end in life, especially material objects. If anything, this recession we have been going through for a few years now, should have taught people that. Look at all the companies along with their merchandise, which had been around for years, and are no longer present.

Mine has been a very good machine, no complaints at all, have had it for seven yrs, hope for another seven,ST is a great vehical, but with the new engines and platforms, the best is yet to come me thinks.

Thanks all, it really wasn't my intention to try and keep the Sport Trac alive, but rather to have someone to talk(write) to about any problems or to tell them "well done". I know we can do this on this website and thats a good thing. But hasn't anybody just once wanted to write a letter to somebody that would listen to us? My '08 is an excellent example of what Ford has accomplished in building a 2nd generation vehicle. I expect it to last far beyond the "normal" 5 or 6 years I keep a vehicle. That is all. BC

Used to have a member here who worked for Ford and could make the right connections. No more....

Maybe if it works out and an ST meet in Louisville, KY materializes, we can get a good turn out and get some VIP's from Ford to show up, we can do some convincing. :smile0012:

I'd love to have a supercharger in before then. :smile0014:

We could show them how much we enjoy what we have, and that the ST deserves to continue. :smile0006:
