idle and mpg

I have an '05 which "stumbles" on a cold start-up. Idles down to around 500rpm. It also gets worse hwy mpg than my '01 did. (18-19 vs.20-22). Took it to dealer, who kept it overnight, said there was nothing in the computer related to my problems so they did nothing. Said mpg was normal. They said the '05 has no IAC, that everything is controlled by computer. Are they telling me true?

The 05 has an IAC.....

Clean it and see what happens....



Thats just stupid to tell you it doesn't have an IAC....

The 05 doesn't have and idle screw, but it does have an IAC...

Todd Z is correct. I have cleaned my IAC, thanks to his project, several times. What the dealer told you about the IAC IS a bold face lie, and what he told you about the computer controlling most, but not all, everything is pretty much true. I am surprised that Todd Z didn't put in a shameless plug for his IAC cleaning project.

18-19 mpg is not bad to be honest with you....
