Ignition Problem?!?

Hello!



My '02 Sport Trac just developed a problem....ignition locks up, and I can't get key to turn..parking brake is on, so there's not a ton of load on anything...ideas!??!?! It just started happening, and has taken over 30 minutes of messing to get it to turn....

Try tilting your steering wheel up and down.



If you have a habit of sliding out of the truck, your leg can accidentally turn the wheel and lock it into place. You can always unlock it by turning the key and turning the wheel a bit to see which way unlocks it. This happened to me yesterday actually, but it wasn't the first time.

yes, you can turn the steering wheel to loosen up the steering wheel lock, OR try your Second key, the key could be wearing down...

The wifes did that a couple times ford fixed with a new switch on the shifter good luck. Bill

My 2001 did that to me, I started using my other key and it works fine. I suppose I should get another key made for a spare.

I have tried the other key, no luck - I think the actual ignition is bad....thanks for any and all input.
