I need some input from you guys.... Here is the situation....

Both numbers are cell phones.

1. I started my business with the phone number 803-847-2063 (2003)

2. I got a local number 803-495-3333 in 2009. So now I have 2 CLK business numbers

3. I have been forwarding the 3333 number to my 2063 phone since the beginning.

4. For the past 3 years, I have been advertising in the phone book and my business cards the 495-3333 as the main number..... With the 2063 listed in small print as an alternate number.

5. Now it seems like I am getting the results I wanted with the 3333 number. More calls. Still not 50/50, but

SOOO what are your thoughts about swapping phones around. Cancelling the forward and reversing the process. Making 495-3333 the main cell phone I carry around and forward the 847-2063 number to 3333. I get very few text messages so advising everyone who now sends me texts, would only be 4-5 people (all family)

So what is your thoughts? Hope I made sense.

What makes the most sense financialy? Put aside the some here/some there thing. You've already advertised for the one phone. If I saw your card, I'd go with the BIG main number. Sorta sounds a bit like a no-brainer to me. To me, the bottom line is $$$. Bob

I had a similar situation. When I moved to a different town, I kept my phone # that I had since 1972. I had that line kept at my daughter's house and forwarded it to my new #. Well after a year or so the calls stopped coming from the original # so I canceled it. When I did this, the phone Co. played a message that the # has been changed to...my new # for a month or so.

Have you thought about porting the number over to google voice? I think there is a one time port fee, but after that it's a free service. I got one for when my wife was deployed since she could only call numbers "local" to a military base for free, and my cell phone wasn't local. So it still rings to my cell phone when either number is called.

JD,, I was paying the local phone company 60$ for the 3333 number and ported it over to my cell phone. Now it's shared on my main business line, 9.99 a month. I think I will go ahead and swap numbers on the cell phone I carry and make the 3333 the main number and 2063 an alternate. The 2063 will still be forwarded to the 3333. Looking at it harder, this way I will be able to track the main number better. Eventually, people will be calling it more and the 2063 will just "be there" Thanks

Get www.nettalk.com and keep BOTH phone numbers and pay $35 bucks a year with tax for the second number.....
