I bought my ST pre Owned (its an 04 ST LXT). I recently put new tires on her, and changed the oil (AMSOIL 5w/30). When i got her she had 50k now she is up to 70k. I did an oil change at 60k so another is due soon. However what is good to do at 70k. I do not know if the Tranny was serviced, it was checked at dealer (carmax). I have a apointment at local shop for tranny drain / filter change/ and refill shortly. Firestone says that i need to replace my fuel filter, do a carbon cleanse, change coolant, and airfilter, as well as a tune up. Thing is she runs fine! Anyways all the things listed above for them to do is around $700-$1200. Which is the most important to do first... (I just dropped $850 on new tires today). Im kinda strapped for cash.. However i wont skimp on quality.. whats a really good plug? Oil (kinda stuck and impressed with amsoil)? wires? etc....

You can do all that yourself and save $800. What is a carbon cleanse? I do my own maintenance. Even if I didnt I dont trust firestone or their prices.

Josh, if you're somewhat mechanically inclined, you could probably do most of the maintenance yourself and save some cash. Checkout the maintenance section. If you run into any problems along the way, there are members here that would be more than happy to help walk you through.

i know i can do all the work with a little sweat and some profanity:rolleyes:, but my question is basically which is most important to do on my own first?

I would do the tranny flush or at least drain and replace filter first. It seems to me that the trans is the weak part of the ST.
