Installing a Auto/Remote Start

Hi All.



Anyone installed a remote start on the ST??



Pro's and Con's??



I just think it'd be nice to remote start the ST a couple of minutes before I leave the office so the AC can cool off the inside.

I have a Viper 791 it is great being able to remote start in this 90 degree weather here in Florida. I didn't install it Circuit City did and they said it is a real Bi#$ch to install because of the PATS system but once installed it is great and the range in phenominal.

Evan, I am thinking about the 791 too. Best Buy wants $500 to buy and install. Sound right?

I have the Viper remote start. IT is the kind with the second key as the by pass....

Cost $175 installed including the getting the third key and cutting it....

No problems with it....

I have an Autopage alarm system with the remote start feature added. I've had no problems with mine. It is definitely more "pro" than "con" in my opinion. It interfaces perfectly with the Trac and it helps in the summer and winter. I'm in northern MS so during the summer it is great for cooling it off- the winter great for warming it up before workouts at 5:30am. That's definitely great when you can sprint to your vehicle and jump in and immediately be warm.



Let me know if you have any questions about it Ron. I think the Autopage RS-650Plus (alarm system, keyless entery, and remote start) retails about $399.00. I didn't pay near that, so I'm guessing at that. DB

I just put a python 881xp in my car. It was a bitch. I work at circuit city and it took us 10 hours. But I have some extras.

You should be able to get one from circuit city for apporximately $450. The alarm is around $00 and then you need a bypass I think and it is around $50.

That remote start is a cool feature and I haven't had any problems so far.

ya if you go to CC we carry python. The 881xp with lcd is $499 installed and i believe that box for your key is $50 but the box without is $80 i could be wrong. But we carry the box to where you don't need to use your extra key. I myself have a blackwidow and have had it for 2yrs now and and it works great.
