What you are saying, Nobleman, is that Media Player's CD rip feature doesn't respect DRM (digital rights management) when it rips a CD that was created previously from protected clips, and the result is new clips that are not protected???

I never said anything of the sort... since my last edit.

This is just an educational project for computer users interested in the quality of software these days.

Works with iTunes too. I buy music through iTunes sometimes, but you can only burn it a set amount of times. I just burn to a RW disc, remove the music, put the RW disc back in and recopy the files, and I can do what I want with the files.

I'm not staying one step ahead, I'm getting even. I purchased the rights to listen to the music, they shouldn't be able to say how many times I can put it on CD. I have CDs in the car, in my room, in my bar, and sometimes they get lost. I may need to burn a song more than 3 times, so it saves a hassle for me by removing the protection.

not only that, but they charge you about a buck per song, and it is a low quality compressed version of the song.

You can also use a soundblaster soundcard with "wav studio" software to listen to and record "what you hear".

Just turn off all windows sound schemes or you'll get the incoming mail sound while driving in the trac and freak out.

But you shouldn't use it to steal or duplicate any copyrighted material.
