I just installed a Jensen VM9424 in my Gen 1 ST. I also added a license frame reverse camera. The install went as shown in other threads, connecting the power and sensor lead for the camera to the reverse light power works nicely.

I bought the HU from the Sonic Electronics eBay store for $370 (about $80 less than their online store). Same unit, not refurb.

The unit is strong on audio, has a nice user interface for DVD disk (music or movie), SD card, ipod, or thumbdrive. I am quite pleased with the sound output.

The nav unit is weak, has a lot of POIs, but the graphics are weak, and data seems a little dated.

I purchased a map upgrade (May 2011 build), which didn't have some business that were built about three years ago.

Overall pretty satisfied with the price and install (thanks again for the help from others). Images are in my library.

There definitely seems to be a "you get what you pay for" to a point with NAV units. I feel you do get to a point where you went up "paying more than what you get" as you look to the more expensive units. I refrain from using the term higher end, because in some cases they really aren't. I'm still losing my mind on which to choose. I've heard almost as many unhappy reports on the $1,600+ Kenwoods and the like, as I have on the sub- $800 units. I have a Gen 2 with Sync, so keeping that and my steering controls are pre-reqs for what ever I pick. To bad there's no real try before you buy in this market.

ZAPPOS needs to start selling car stuff.. lol
