Job 1 v. Job 2

I've read different post that say Job 1 this or Job 2 that........what the heck does this mean?

Job 1 was the first production run of STs and ended in June 2000. The remaining 2001 STs are Job2. The Job2s incorporated fixes for such things as the gas door rubbing when opened and scratching the paint, fuel pump problems causing hard starts, and a refined hood latch (around 9/00). There are other differences as well. The intake manifolds and valve covers are different and the oil fill is on opposite sides of the engine. Also, Mandarin Gold was dropped and replaced by Silver Frost. If you want more detail, you can do a search, this has been brought up several times.

And to think that I almost took Mandarin. I should have....



Other thing (not sure if it's only Job 1); the red release switch for the cruise control on top of the master cylinder should be replaced! They have yet to recall it, but I replaced mine.

There's a recall, but not all the VINs are included.

My ST had the red switch and was not recalled, I replaced it myself for peace of mind.
